It seems so odd to me that horror makes so little in Australia. The average horror flick here makes between $1.5m - $2.5m which is a shame because we consistently have it coming out. Is it because horror is released on a usually monthly basis?. One might think that Australia gets every flick the US does, but think again. In the wonderful genre of horror, Australia only gets to see on the big-screen what our Distributor's think is worthy. And whats worthy is usally decided on the gross of the film in the US, that is why we usually dont see a films release for minimum a month after the US release. If a film flops there, it'll be a lucky day for Aussie's if we see it in our cinemas. below are the film's that WERE planned for release in Australia, but for US flopping, or other reason's we didn't get t. *** indicates the film would've had limited release.
